On the Hunt

I love Easter - the candy, the easter hats, the egg hunts, the new dresses - but not so much that it overwhelms the true meaning of the holiday. I like it simple and sweet.

We had lots of fun at the ward egg hunt (although you wouldn't know it from the looks on their faces), on a beautiful saturday morning!

Later, I dressed the kiddies up, and made them say cheese fifteen million times (you can tell by their expressions). And all they got was a juice box out of it! We did stop to pick daisies and play a bit. It was so nice, I didn't even care about the pollen - we stayed out all day. It's amazing what I am willing to do for sunshine.

Do you not love Sam's hat? I love his hat.

Yep, Chad had definitely had enough.

Growth

This week's theme is GROWTH. Aubrey spent one afternoon playing dress up in her Tinkerbell costume. I couldn't help but think her Tinkerbell days are numbered, making this moment all the sweeter for me.
And just to show how much she has grown in the last two and a half years, this is another dress up pic from November of '08. It goes too fast!

Strange

I was a little EXCITED (P52 theme, week 14) and a bit confused to see my kiddies want to sit so close (all opting to sit on one chair) while watching TV. Immediately following this photo, Sam came to his senses and ran to another chair. Just a fleeting moment.

Three Years and Counting

It happened. They boy turned 3! I had convinced myself that this would not happen - my baby, turning 3. He even tried to tell me that he was six this morning. I should probably be happy with 3.

Three Year old Interview:

1. Sam how old are you today? Um...good. Two!

2. What's your favorite toy? This (pointing to toy car carrier).

3. What are you really good at? This (once again, pointing to car carrier).

He's a little preoccupied right now, not really interested in my interview.

4. What's your favorite thing to eat? Um...taco.

5. What makes you happy? This (you probably know what he means by now).

6. What's your favorite TV show? Busy Town. I don't really like Busy Town.

7. What do you like? Thomas.

8. What do you want to be when you grow up? I don't know. A truck.

Happy Birthday Sam!

Planning

I feel like I'm finally shaking off winter, and starting to PLAN (P 52 theme) for spring!

We are planning a quick weekend trip, and I made travel journals for the kids, combining ideas from here and here.

I'm planning Easter baskets, and making quiet books for church, tutorial found here.

And last of all, I'm planning my summer garden. Family Fun had some creative ideas for indoor gardens, so Chad and I started our seeds early using a trading card sports sleeve. Kind of a messy project, but it should work!

Signs of Spring

We had to look for them, but here they are!

Love the rhododendrons. As excited as I am for Spring, I know my hayfever is not far behind. This year I tried the honey experiment, found here. Although I forgot to take it many times, I'm hoping it will still help.

Underneath Cloud Cover

We've seen lots of rain this week, and lots of clouds - growing weary of it. The kiddies had school off today, and I had my theme to shoot: UNDERNEATH. How about underneath the deep blue sea?

Pretend swimming isn't nearly as fun as real swimming, so we did that too. When we came home, the sun was out. I think we must have done something right.
