Time for tea (aka pink lemonade)

Aubrey turned 6 last week, so we celebrated with a tea party. All of her little friends dressed up, and had a dainty lunch.

If girls are made of sugar and spice, boys must be made of something else entirely. Sam simply tripped, fell on his knees, and required 5 stitches. I have no idea how that happened. I do know that I am pro at handling these situations. Thanks to Chad, this was my 3rd (almost 4th, one just required a very expensive band aid) trip to a medical facility for stitches. My boys may need bubble wrap clothing.

Enchanting

Last weekend we went to the Enchanted Forest, and I love it there. There's tunnels, potato sack slides, teepees, gold mining, castles. What's not to love?

I tried to get more pics of Sam, but his little body never stopped moving. Just about every picture with him in it was blurry. I think he was too busy having fun to stop and smile.

New Beginnings

We have had a few big events in recent days, the first being Chad's baptism. Everything went well and he his now a member! We are very proud. Thanks for making the trip Mom and Dad!

The other event was the beginning of the school year. I think I was the most excited, although I did have one misty moment when the thought crossed my mind that there are only a few more first days that Chad will allow me to accompany him. And my little Aubrey is now a kindergartner, I will miss her.

Getting Ready for School

Even the smallest one...

He tried to get that back pack on right.

Many times.

Then he gave up.

To personalize the kiddies back packs, we made shrinky dink charms and put them on keychains. They did them all by themselves, and were very proud.

Birthday Boys

These two turned a year older this week! We celebrated with cake,

sprinklers (Chad uses proper eye protection with water at all times),

more cake (a wii remote cake - used to replenish all of his buddies during the wii party tournament),

handsomeness,

and silly string.

It was awesome.

Recent Events

Sam has officially entered the stubborn phase of toddlerhood. He insists on dressing himself. And this is the result:

He wouldn't let me touch the shirt. Instead, I giggled and took pictures.

Today we had an all day park day. That's right, parks all day. We went to the Beaverton library park for lunch (got some books too), then went to Memorial park in Wilsonville. Coolest park ever. Play ground was fun, but the best part was a waterfall and river structure. I played too.

Then we went to Summerlake Park in Tigard for some scooter action. Kiddies found yet another playground. And then we fed the ducks sticks and leaves, they were not impressed.

It was a long, but fun day. I'm very tired.

Baseball

Chad just finished up another season of baseball. I love watching these games - the nice weather, the non-competetive parents, the concession stands. So fun.

We are redecorating the boys room with a baseball theme, and this is what Chad will wake up to every morning (Costco prints posters!):
