Spirit

This week, the theme is SPIRIT! And we had plenty of it today.

Chad had school spirit, because they closed the school (due to an inch and a half of snow).

Aubrey had a boldness of spirit, with regards to the snow.

Here's Chad, so calm and unsuspecting, and Aubrey taking aim:

And here's Sam, plowing the snow. See the snowball on his hat? Yep, Aubrey did that too.

Romance

This week's theme is ROMANCE, and not my own (your welcome). It's all about romance in the 2nd grade.

1/400s, f/3.5, ISO 200

A few weeks ago, Chad came home with a mysterious phone number in his backpack. I did a reverse phone number look-up and found it to be a little girl in his class. Chad, thankfully, had no interest in making that phone call. A few days later, the class wrote notes, telling what they liked about each other. Most were very typcal, and then one anonymous note: "Chad I like you, you are cute." Same girl? One can't be sure. I'd be more concerned, but Chad seems indifferent. Really, can you blame the girl?

Week 6

The theme for this week is BODY PARTS - not my favorite. I enjoy photographing faces so much more, but Aubrey's piggies did look pretty good after we painted them for v-day.

1/20s, F4, ISO 360

The older Aubrey gets, the more fun she is at doing all of the girly things. We recently took an iceskating class together. We mastered dips, glides, and hops - we are totally training for Sochi, Russia '14! Can a mother and daughter be considered a pair?

Just the fact that I can skate and run a video camera - not bad, eh? Actually, I did fall once. Although, I was not technically on the ice - just standing up after lacing my boots. I suppose that's more embarassing than falling in the rink.

Sweet Sleep

The theme for week 5 is SLEEP.

1/60s, f/5, ISO 400 (flash on, used Lightscoop)
Sam has taken to coloring himself instead of paper!

I love it when they sleep - so peaceful. Do you ever wonder what they dream about? Every time I ask, Sam gives me 1 of 2 answers: garbage trucks or monster trucks. Perhaps last night they had head lights on (due to my flash).

As for the binkie, it's the last remnant of babyhood for Sam. He's traded in the diapers, waking in the middle of the night (most of the time), bottles, strollers, naps. But the binkie remains. I hate to take it away, but alas I must. It's either that or suffer the consequences later with an extensive orthodontist treatment plan. Maybe one more week?

P52 - Week 4

Week four already! I think this is my record for sticking with a new year's resolution! A few of you sound like you may want to join in the photography fun? If so, I am getting my theme list from DPS, found here. They also have very informative articles. This week's theme is: TIRED.

1/100s, f/5.6, ISO 400

Tired of winter, gray skies, rain (we have had a break from it this week - yay), socks, coats, and the list goes on (Aubrey may just be tired of me taking her picture). Perhaps Punxsutawney Phil will have good news for us this year!

P52- Week 3

Theme for the week: MACRO (photography of very small objects). I don't technically have the proper equipment for macro photography, like a lens that can show you the hair of a fly. Kinda creeped out by just seeing them far away, no need to see them close up.

Here's something not as small, but much more charming . . .atleast on film (Aubrey's baby doll can be a bit chatty).

1/40s, f/4, ISO 400

And since it's Valentine-like, makes me think of chocolate. I can't wait to make (and hopefully share) these little babies!
